Like many things in Costa Rica, the indigenous woods are rich in color, unique in texture and beautiful to behold. Costa Rica is very serious about protecting her forests and has made it unlawful to export these woods in an unfinished state, therefore, most products which are produced remain in the country. We have chosen
artists who create a variety of products which we find both useful and unique. All of the woods used by our artisans are hardwoods which will stand up to the test of time and remain beautiful throughout the years.
 The Cocobola, a type of rosewood, is one of the most interesting woods of Central America. This wood is a light, oak color
with distinct swirls of a darker, mahogany color. Because cocobola trees are usually fairly small in size, the artisans use it to produce different types of serving peices, decorative boxes and wooden sculptures.
The Guapinol, a beautiful wood the color of honey, is ideal for unique serving bowls, glassware and serving trays. The unique grain gives this wood distinctive lines and the color is warm and rich.
Guanacaste, probably the most well known tree of Costa Rica, is rich in color and texture. These trees are one of the largest in Costa Rica, therefore, is often used in the production of furniture.
